So, how about that FanFest? *dodges trash thrown from the audience* I agree, pretty miserable if you cared about what was going to be said about DUST. It seems that Legion is going to be DUST 514 on PC, which could have been good, but it is a separate game which makes the announcement really bad; like turd in the punchbowl bad. The little information we have and the near silence of the devs is something that, rightfully so, has people angry and scared. Has me as such. This small amount of information that has us clawing at the walls trying to get more knowledge makes me ask the simple question: "why didn't CCP tell us everything?" That then leads to another question: "Why did CCP tell us at all?"
Legion *may* not happen at all but the damage that it has done to CCP's credibility to the DUST playerbase is pretty substantial. Since Legion might not even happen, and the backlash that it is causing might seriously even hinder it, why announce it at all? Give us something that has to do with DUST, or even solely has to do with Legion, but never ever mention Legion. We are 'fooled' and happy into thinking there will be progress. If Legion doesn't happen, you lose nothing from the community. If Legion happens, you just spin it into everything in DUST is going to be in Legion. If the PS3 can't handle "all the new stuff", you can pull the plug and make it "see? We wanted it to work on the PS3 but our awesomeness just couldn't be contained by one console."
Since we were told "Legion is a thing", why weren't we told EVERYTHING at the start? We had to wait 26 hours to hear "we want your characters to transfer over, we want your investment to transfer over if we can" and another few hours after that to get a forum post by Rouge, the first and only thing he has posted, stating "it will transfer." If all of this was known, why was so little of it given to us piecemeal? Am I the only one to think that Rouge coming out for the CCP keynote with a very annoyed looking Hilmar was added at the last minute?
If there is a turd in the punchbowl and no one knows, you either flick the turd out and never mention it OR you let everyone know that there was a turd, how big, what it means, do they need to go to the hospital for 'turd in punchbowl' related diseases, etc.
